    The 250-acre landscape is spectacular no matter what the season. The gardens, trails, and wild spaces are uniquely beautiful and always full of surprises throughout the year. Free docent-led tours are offered at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. every Thursday and Saturday from June 1 until Columbus Day weekend. There is also a wide variety of events, exhibits, and programs for all ages.
    Areas include the Bibby & Harold Alfond Children’s Garden, Rose & Perennial Garden, Lerner Garden of the Five Senses, Slater Forest Pond, Burpee Kitchen Garden, Great Lawn, Shoreland Trail, Giles Rhododendron Garden, Cleaver Event Lawn & Garden, Haney Hillside Garden, Vayo Meditation Garden, Woodland Garden, and Bosarge Family Educaiton Center.

    From May 1–Columbus Day, other options to view the gardens include:
    • A complimentary shuttle service with stops along the Birch Allée, on the Shoreland Trail, and at the Giles Rhododendron & Perennial Garden.
    • Accessible cart tours: Mon–Fri at 9:30am & 3:30pm; $10/person; reservation required.
    • Free accessible cart tours: every Wed at both 9:30am and 3:30pm; reservation required.
    • Private cart tour: Mon–Fri at 9:30am & 3:30pm;, $50 for one to five passengers (maximum of five); must be booked at least one week in advance.
    • Mobility scooters are available for rent
    • A few wheelchairs are available on loan, at no charge, on a first-come, first-served basis.
